£500 To See Hamlet!

Hamlet will be moving to the West-End, after extremely successful performances at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, tickets were selling out like a rocket last night. Thousands and thousands of Who fans were buying tickets, that were selling for more than five hundred pounds! Every single ticket for every performance was sold out in just a few hours! After the box office for the production opened yesterday, it went wild and the official website crashed, as well as the telephone hotline being jammed! On unofficial websites tickets were being handed over for as much as £1,100 for two! Top-prices officially only went up to £40 pounds, but there was such a demand for them. Some people even went to the extremes of camping overnight, outside the theatre, hoping for tickets. In just two hours, 6,000 tickets were sold.
At getmein.com, a "fan-to-fan marketplace" site owned by Ticketmaster, a pair of seats for the opening night, 3rd December was priced at £1,174, including a £174 "processing fee".
The tickets being sold on the internet at inflated prices had nothing to do with the RSC or the Novello Theatre, but violated the terms and conditions associated with their purchase. atts strongly advises that you do NOT buy tickets like any of these, as, for one thing, they are incredibly exoensive and probably not worth that amount, and you are under the risk of not being allowed in. Sorry to anyone who did not see it at Stratford, or have not been able to get tickets for London. All London performances are now sold out.

Dalek Encounter Model Kit

A new Airfix kit will be coming out soon, following the 'Welcome Aboard!' one, which featured the Doctor and Martha standing outside an open Tardis. The set is named 'Dalek Encounter', and features two Daleks, and open-cased Dalek Sec, and another from the Cult of Skaro. It has a background from the Cult's secret lair, underneath the Empire State Building, from Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks. As with the last set, you will have to construct the model and paint it yourself. You might need some parent help if you're not good at DIY stuff! All paint and models are included. The set is due out on 20th October 2008, at the RRP price of £24.99. You can pre-order the item for £21.99 here. Torchwood Cross The Border!

The picture to the left was made by me
The Torchwood team are going further than ever before in the third series of Torchwood, entitled Children of Earth, according to the latest Torchwood Magazine. They'll be crossing the border to another country... England! Part of the new series will be filmed and set in London. It was decided to make the third series much bigger and expansive than any other previous stories, and to make it more global (hence 'Children of Earth'. Not Children of Wales, or Cardiff!), rather than it just being set in and around Cardiff. Needless to say, that the Torchwood home is still, and always will be, in Cardiff. Filming has been going on for about a month now, but the whole storyline is still being kept very secret, as not to spoil any suprises.
"We're all excited to be taking the show in a new direction this year," said Barrowman. "Now filming is underway, we're all getting a sense of how exciting and interesting this story is. It's a thrill a minute, because we're packing it all into one week, and there are a lot of things that people really won't expect!"
John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Kai Owen have all been confirmed to be returning as the characters of Captain Jack, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones and Rhys Williams. The story will be broadcast throughout one week in Spring 2009, in five parts on BBC One. What do you think of this news?
In other Torchwood news, the ninth issue of Torchwood Magazine was released today at the price of £3.99, and has features including information on the audio adventures Lost Souls, and a tour of the teams' SUV!
