Interview - John Barrowman

John Barrowman has recently been interviewed in the Daily Mail. One of the key points he makes is about not wanting to be liked, but just to get a little respect. It has lots of great pictures of when he was young and other fun stuff. You can see a short extract from this review below;

'I grew up in a very loving family, but my parents were also strict. My mother wasn't afraid to give us a whack when she thought we needed it. My parents were big on table manners, being polite, showing other people respect. To this day, I live by that. I don't ask that you like me, just that you respect me.'

The Krotons and The Time Warrior - Audios

Two new audio CDs have been set for release. You can see both covers of them above, and the two classic series stories are 'The Time Warrior' and 'The Krotons'. 

The Time Warrior is written by Terrance Dicks and read by Jeremy Bulloch. It was the first Sontaran story, and featured the Third Doctor and Sarah Jane. You can view the synopsis for it below;

Patrick Troughton stars as the Doctor in the soundtrack of this classic TV story from 1968, in which he finds the humanoid Gonds enslaved by the monstrous, crystalline Krotons. Along with his companions, Jamie and Zoe, the Doctor befriends the Gonds and enters the lair of their enemies. Can he halt the years of tyrrany and also escape with his life?

The Krotons is written by Robert Holmes and is a soundtrack from the story, but includes a bonus interview with Frazer Hines. It features the Second Doctor, Jamie and Zoe and their encounter with the Krotons. You can view the synopsis for it below;

His spaceship crippled in an inter-stellar battle, the Sontaran warrior, Linx, is forced to crash land on Earth. He arrives in the Middle Ages, a time too primitive to provide the technology he needs to repair his ship. Allaying himself with the local robber chief, Linx uses his powers to 'borrow' scientists and equipment from twentieth-century Earth. The Doctor tracks down the missing scientists and journeys into the past to save them. But can he defeat the ruthless Linx and his savage human allies before the course of human history is changed forever?

The Time Warrior will be on sale on 13th November 2008 and will cost £17.99. The Krotons should be released at about the same time, but at the RRP price of £13.99.

Patrick Stewart In The Specials?

A number of unreliable sources, including the Daily Star, have reported another rumour, this time about Patrick Stewart, apparently set to 'beam across from Star Trek to Doctor Who'! The start of this rumour could be that he is acting alongside David Tennant in the newest version of Hamlet, originally just for the Royal Shakespeare Company, but moving across to London soon, but bear in mind that all performances are already sold out! He is most well known for his roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the starship Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Xavier in the X-Men films. He is highly regarded for his commitment and work at the Royal Shakespeare comepany. Lately, Stewart has said that is he intrested in appearing in Doctor Who, so could this story have some truth behind it? They say that they will bring him in for next year's (2009's) adventures, but could become a recurring character. The BBC have offered Stewart a role as a rival Time Lord called the Meddling Monk, who was orginally seen in the 1960s, but little is known about him. This could be a new way of bringing the Master in again, but something a little different. They say that they really want him to be in it, and if not the 2009 specials they would save the character for the new series in 2010.

An insider close to the Star Trek team said yesterday: “Patrick has been formally approached to star in Doctor Who and is very keen to do it.”

The Last Sontaran Part 2 - What Did You Think?

The second episode of Series 2 of The Sarah Jane Adventures was shown today on BBC One. This was the second part of The Last Sontaran, and was shown at 4:35pm. If you were watching, you would seen Sarah Jane unconscious, a Sontaran defeated and the really sad bit at the end when Maria left. It didn't seem all that bad for her, in the end, because last year, when her Dad told her they were moving, she was devastated, so Alan didn't move, but now, it seems all fine! If you missed the episode, or would like to watch it again, if you haven't recorded it you can see it here on iPlayer. But what did you think? Say what you thought of the episode in the comments or in the chat box, and vote on the poll. If you were lucky enough to have digital viewing (like me!), then you would have seen the first part of The Day of the Clown, but I won't say anything about that just yet on here for those of you who don't want to be spoiled., apart from it was great!

The Last Sontaran/Day of the Clown - Tomorrow

A reminder to tell you that the second part of The Last Sontaran, the second episode of the second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be airing tomorrow on BBC One. It will be broadcast at 4:35pm on BBC One and the next story, Day of the Clown will follow the next week on the same channel, but you can view it a week earlier if you're a digital viewer on the CBBC channel, at 5:15pm tomorrow. Plush Adipose - Release Date and Price

The release date and the price for the upcoming Plush Adipose has now been revealed. There is also a new picture of it, as you can see above, which is slightly different to the one we have seen before. It looks less cute, thinner and does not have the pointed tooth anymore. This is a slight disappointment. Smaller plastic Adipose were released earlier this year, as part of the first Wave of Series 4 figures. A few of them came in a pack with the Doctor. The fat chomping Adipose appeared in Partners in Crime, the first episode of Doctor Who series four and now they're here as this uber cute plush from Character Options! They're seeding Earth, as weight-loss pills, and The Doctor needs you to take one of the little devils off his hands!

The Adipose is a manufactured product from Character Options, and will be released on 22nd October 2008, at the RRP price of £9.99. You can buy it for cheaper, at £8.99 here! Will you be buying the Adipose later this month?

The 500th Post

After nearly six months, over 20,000 page hits since May 2008, 165 days, 12 banners, 3960 hours, 2 designs, 237600 minutes, 10 logos, 142560000 seconds and a enormous amount of effort and hard work since the site first opened, the adventures through time and space has reached the 500 post mark! If you count back all those seconds, months later you'll have worked out that the site first opened on 22nd April 2008 (Or you could just have looked in the sidebar!). Just the other day, the page hit counter went over the 20,000 visitors barrier, so thank you to everyone who visits! Also very lately, we've now got a place of Google, so now, if you type in adventures through time and space, we're now the first result to come up! When we first started, it wasn't there at all. About a month ago it was the 3rd result, and now 1st! I'm going to give you a few things about the site from our 'about' page, which I'll hope you'll find interesting. Back at the start, the site didn't have many visitors, mainly because nobody really knew about it. I was new to this stuff, so I didn't want to ask for a link on another site or anything. I didn't publicise at all! In the last couple of months, the number of visitors has soared tremendously! Now gaining an average of 130 unique visitors a day, rather than the like 2 when I started (my friend and I), and about 6 in May. It keeps going up as well!

• When I first started, and throughout the duration of this layout, I didn't write posts myself. That wasn't to say that I was lazy, I just wanted the site to be like that. Not written in all my own words, but just to give you as much information as I could. It was sort of a reference site if you like. Nothing too special I suppose. 
• At the start of July 2008, I had just come back from my holiday, and I just couldn't face surviving with what I had then. I thought, nah, it'll be ok, I'll just keep going. I tried to change the design to another basic template, but they all looked awful, so I searched for different templates on Google. And... I saw this one. It looked a bit different from what it looks like now, because I changed it slightly. I fell in love with the design when I saw it, and decided I must have it. So I thought over how I was going to do it. My computer was broken the day I changed it, so I used a Windows, which was rally great because I could download the template and then upload it to the site. Unfortunately when I did upload it, all my widgets were deleted. At least this gave me the chance of a fresh start! Since the new layout was put on, all titles in the sidebar have been in the lower case, including the title.
• At the start of August, my posts began to be written in my own words. I knew it would be a lot of work, but, to be a good site, it had to! At first, there were no pages, but then in August, I started on Doctor Who episode guides, then Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. It just went from there. There are so many things you can find links to under the banner, from character files and magazines to site looks, about, competitions, guestbook, a page devoted to links, loads of information and pages off other pages. So I hope you all get the chance to look at them! I think having the links under the banner looks really good, compared with them in the normal sidebar. It makes it easier to see.

Top Trumps On The Wii

After the Doctor Who Top Trumps game becoming electronic, being able to now play it on the Playstation, PC and other consoles, the game will be coming out in December on the Wii! The Wii is one of the most popular (and expensive) game consoles you can get, and is also arguably th most fun. This is a great move to make, but unfortunately, the game will be more expensive than on the other consoles. The box has a different cover to the others, and now features the Doctor in the Tardis, the cover of the latest Top Trumps set, released by Winning Moves. You can see the cover above. The age rating is 3+, so sorry all of you under three year olds, that can actually read this site, but you can't play it. Too much violence! The game is due for release on 5th December 2008, at the RRP price of £29.99! What do you think of this news?

18" Red Supreme r/c Dalek at Tesco!

Tesco are now selling the Red Supreme Dalek radio-controlled toy, as an exclusive 18 inch figure! The Supreme Dalek appeared in the Series Four finale, in June/July, with Davros, but was blown up by Captain Jack. A 12 inch radio-controlled figure was originally released, but Tesco have their unique version. Although 18 inch Voice Interactive Daleks have been released, this is not, but exactly the same as the 12 inch, just a bit bigger! You will only be able to find these at Tesco, and at the moment, they are quite rare, so you won't be able to find them at every Tesco store you might run into. But if you are lucky enough, you will have to pay the price of £49.99, so you can keep it. The nice till workers may ask, 'Are you a fan of Doctor Who, then?', or some younger ones might just look awkwardly at you! If they're nice enough you might be able to use a credit card, and get points put onto your club card (which will be 49 points!). Don't forget your re-usuable bag to save the environment, to cut down on global warming! And as for the picture in this post!!! I just hate those kind of pictures. "Oh yay, I've got an orange spot underneath me, and I can't stop smiling because I'm having so much fun with this toy! I'm the first child to use one! Yippee..." and so on. But enough of my ramble to fill the space. Will you get the exclusive 18 inch blood-red, ruthless killer?

Memory Mayhem!

On the newly revamped Sarah Jane Adventures site, for the second series, there is a new game to play. The game is called Memory Mayhem, and after each episode of the second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, you will be able to take a quiz about it. Each quiz is posted right after the episode is broadcast, and features Clyde, trapped in a 'creepy hospital'. He has lost some of his memories, and so needs your help to get them back. There are ten questions each time, and every bit of it is colourful and fun. You get set a time limit for each question. If you fail to answer in that time, you will have to start again. It guides you through step by step, so you know what to do. If you get all the questions right, you end up with a secret code, which lets you access an exclusive wallpaper, under protected files in the games section of the site.
