Glasgow Exhibition News

The opening and closing date of the Doctor Who exhibition in Glasgow has now been confirmed on their website. it has been announced that the exhibition will be open from 27th March 2009 and run until 4th January 2010. Tickets are already on sale for it, and it will be held in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Adult tickets cost £7.50 and children and concessions are £4.50. Booking fees will also apply. Family tickets will cost £18 plus booking fee. If you would like to phone for the booking office, the telephone number is 08444 815 816. There is also another exhibition opening next year, in Coventry. This opens on Friday 13th March 2009. The Earl's Court exhibition's run has been extended to 9th January 2009, due to popular demand. RTS Nomination

Doctor Who has been nominated for an award for Best Sound from a drama at this year's RTS (Royal Television Society) Craft and Design Awards. The nomination is Midnight, but that is th only category the programme has been nominated for. Last year there were more, but it's still good to have something. It is true that the music heard in Midnight was amazing, and terribly spooky. If you want to hear the music, it is included on this year's soundtrack, filled with twenty-seven tracks of the Doctor's latest adventures. The ceremony takes place at the Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane in London, on the date of the 24th November this year. The Scenes of a Journey Past

The Series 4 Box Set which was out on Monday contains a few deleted scenes, at various times throughout the series. There were two scenes that were deleted in Journey's End, and now with the new DVD, we can see them! So, below you can watch these. The first is from the Bad Wolf Bay scene at the end of the episode with The two Doctors, Donna and Rose. This was reported earlier, and has the part where the proper Doctor hands a 'chunk of Tardis', so that Rose and the duplicate Doctor can grow their won in the parallel world. The secodn scene has also been reported earlier, and is a slightly alternate ending to the episode. What is different about it is that Donna hears the sound of the Tardis when she is on the phone and Cybermen come up behind the Doctor in the Tardis. Enjoy these clips below;

A Couple of Interviews

Two sources have posted interviews with John Barrowman and one with Elizabeth Sladen. They play the characters of Captain Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. Elizabeth Sladen's one has been put up on Last Broadcast, and they talk about many things related to her show, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Some highlights include her thoughts on her new action figure for Series 2, and what she thinks will happen with the young stars who act alongside her in the show. Below you can read a short snippet;
Would you like to do a Christmas special one year?
Oh wow, that would be amazing, wouldn’t it? I’d never thought about that. With a Christmas tree up in the attic! We filmed a party scene actually, in the first episode of the new series I think, but it wasn’t used. There were balloons everywhere afterwards so I was thinking they’d have to keep the scene or there’d just be mysterious balloons in the background in the attic! But it wasn’t driving the story forward unfortunately.

The other interview is with John Barrowman, star of Torchwood, and is from FemaleFirst. He talks about his new album Music, Music, Music (out Monday), and also about the new series of Torchwood, that is due to air in Spring in five consecutive parts. Below you can see a snippet;
How surprised were you that Torchwood has done so well as a stand alone series?
Overwhelmed I can’t believe it! We knew that we were doing a production that we had to, when we did it first on BBC3, we knew that we had to be loyal to the original brand of Doctor Who and when we got out ratings and we got the best ratings in the history, and we till hold that title on digital television, and they moved us to two and we got good ratings there, even in our repeats we beat some programmes on other channels, so the success I’m overwhelmed and I think that’s why I continue to do my variety of things because it’s my way of saying thank you to everybody. I figure that if I work harder and try to do other things that please people then they will see that I really appreciate what they have done for me.

The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith Part 2 - Trailer

The trailer was shown last Monday on CBBC, after the first part of the same story. This part of the story will be shown next Monday on CBBC at 5:15pm. It will be shown again the next week for non-digital viewers at 4:35pm.

MDWM Issue 20 - Cover

Gallifrey Productions, the new home of Mad Doctor Who Magazine have revealed the cover of their twentieth issue. The newly-designed website looks absolutely amazing and hosts a number of new features, that you can see here! Mad Doctor Who Magazine is an online magazine, made by fans of the show, and it is incredible. Much work is poured into the magazine all the time, and hosts a fantastic group of writers. "Inside Issue 20, you can find us looking at the last 45 years of Doctor Who with this celebratory issue. Also in the issue in the BRAND NEW adventures series Reality Vworp written by the Amazing Joe." You can see the cover below. This issue will be online on Monday 24th November 2008.

Skyline Daleks and Sainsbury's Charts

Two pieces of short news here. The first is that there will be Daleks projected on London and Cardiff's Skyline soon to mark the release of the Series 4 box set. The box set was released yesterday, and this is quite a big thing to do for just this release. It shows that Doctor Who is becoming very important around the UK, which is very warming! In London, we do know that that one Dalek will be projected on the Battersea Power Station (which also doubled as John Lumic's Cybus factory in Series 2). There should be more news about this soon. Another small thing is that in Sainsbury's at the moment, the Doctor Who Series 4 Box Set is top of the charts, against many other DVDs! I don't know how long it will stay this way, but it is definitely very good! What do you think of this news?

The Mark of the Berserker Part 2 - Your Thoughts

The eighth episode of Series 2 of The Sarah Jane Adventures was shown today on BBC One. This was the second part of The Mark of the Berserker, and was shown at 4:35pm. If you were watching, you would have seen Clyde and his Dad driving away in a fancy sports car, Clyde forgetting nearly everything and an emotional ending. If you missed the episode, or would like to watch it again, if you haven't recorded it you can see both parts of it here on iPlayer, and click on the episode you want. But what did you think? Say what you thought of the episode in the comments or in the chat box. If you were lucky enough to have digital viewing (like me!), then you would have seen the first part of the next story, but I won't say anything about that just yet on here for those of you who don't want to be spoiled.

Doctor Who Adventures 90

At last, adventures through time and space have been sent the information about last weeks issue of Doctor Who Adventures. It went on sale last Thursday, and it's issue 90. The magazine costs £2.10, and comes free with a spinning angel and stickers. Posters inside include Evolution of the Daleks, Weeping Angels, Davros. The Temptation of the Berserker

Just a reminder to tell you that two new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be airing this afternoon. The episodes are the second part of The Mark of the Berserker, and the first part of The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith. They are the eighth and ninth episodes of the second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. The Mark of the Berserker part shall be shown on BBC One at 4:35pm on BBC One, but premiered on the CBBC channel last week. The first part of the next story, The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith, will follow the next week on the same channel, but you can view it a week earlier if you're a digital viewer on the CBBC channel, at 5:15pm today. After broadcast, you will be able to watch both episodes and download them on BBC iPlayer. The trailers for both stories can be seen here and here. Next week, the first part of The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith shall be shown on BBC One, and the second part of the story shall premier on the CBBC channel. Will you be tuning in today?
