With a little help from the Daleks, Cybermen and other monsters, this year's BBC Proms family concert should be out of this world. BBC One's hit series Doctor Who and BBC Radio 3 join forces for a concert which also marks the 50th anniversary of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Freema Agyeman (aka Martha Jones) and other members of the Doctor Who cast join the BBC Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Choir on stage for music inspired by themes of time and space, including: Jupiter from Holst's The Planets; the UK première of Mark-Anthony Turnage's The Torino Scale; and a selection of Murray Gold's music from the TV series. Listeners can also hear The Ride Of The Valkyries from Wagner's Die Walküre and Copland's Fanfare For The Common Man.
