The New Doctor In Need

On Terry Wogan's morning show today, he revealed that the casting for the next Doctor might be revealed on Children In Need night. Terry has a major part in Children In Need, so if he says something like that, he most likely will not be fibbing. Of course, he didn't officially confirm that it would happen, just a possibility, so he's started thinking about it. It is not yet known, however, if Steven Moffat has chosen the next Doctor or not, but it could be too early to find out yet, so don't get your hopes up. Apparently, it might be a good fund raiser for the event, for charity, which makes it an even higher possibility that it will happen. Also, sources have picked up on an article in Doctor Who Magazine, way back in 1999, saying that Steven Moffat would prefer an older Doctor; more of a grandfather looking upon the universe, than a dashing, young hero. But since then, it is very likely that he has changed his mind, saying not so long ago that he would like to keep a younger actor in the role. Thanks is Outpost Gallifrey, we have a list of people that could play the Doctor, but be warned, a few of these have already been cast before, and some are just ridiculous, so don't think this is being entirely truthful. You can see this below;
  • 2/1 David Morrisey
  • 6/1 Paterson Joseph
  • 8/1 James Nesbitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor
  • 10/1 Russell Tovey, John Simm
  • 12/1 Anthony Head
  • 14/1 Robert Carlyle, David Walliams
  • 16/1 Richard E Grant
  • 18/1 Richard Coyle, Aidan Gillen, Alan Davies, Sean Pertwee
  • 20/1 Jason Statham, Harry Lloyd, Nigel Harman, Marc Warren, Jack Davenport
  • 25/1 Julian Walsh, Adrian Lester, Alexander Armstrong
  • 33/1 Julian Rhind-Tutt, Rupert Penry-Jones, James McAvoy
  • 40/1 Bill Nighy, Stephen Fry, Ben Wishaw
  • 50/1 John Barrowman, Ben Miles, David Suchet, Hugh Laurie
  • 66/1 Gary Oldman, Matt Smith, Paul Bettany, Joel Beckett, Christopher Eccleston
  • 80/1 Alex Kingston, Dean Lennox Kelly, Christopher Villiers
  • 100/1 Ricky Gervais
  • 150/1 Hugh Grant, Russell Brand, Vinnie Jones
  • 200/1 Robbie Williams
Please Comment! Thanks!

Hugh grant should be the one to be the new doctor, he'll either have us in stitces from laughing so much or he'll make us jealous if he gets a beautiful woman by his side. which ever it is, us girls will go crazy and green with envy. I just can't imagiane anyone else thats listed who can be a great doctor, anyhow Hugh's been the doctor once already and it suited him, he was great. you could always turn him into a villainous doctor instead of a kind hearted one who wants to save the world and be a hero. For Hugh playing naughty makes him look cuter and i prefer to see him like that. Oh please yourselves how you script him in if you should so use him. the scripting of the storyline could be an array of endless scenarios, be creative. if you want any more ideas email me.

where is Phil Daniels in the list?

He would be perfect and has expressed an interest in doing it.
